May 2010 cannot come soon enough.
Back in 2004, I worked in a call center doing telephone surveys and would draw a lot. I drew this and stashed it away for a long, long time. This picture is what inspired me to use the team in my web comic. Notice that not alot has changed with the team. The little dude at the bottom is Blink (ability of teleportation), and I’m thinking about introducing him some time soon.
Finally, we find out where the Captain was this whole time! Next week will be the conclusion of this arc, as well as Volume 1. Stay tuned!

Over at Brawl in the Family, they are doing an awesome rendition of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” It features Mario as Scrooge, Wario as Marley, Luigi as Bob Kratchet, Rosalina as the Spirit of Christmas Past, Kirby as the Spirit of Christmas Present, and many others. CHECK IT OUT!

Alright, everyone, CHECK THIS OUT! An awesome album of 8-bit Christmas music, done in the style and way of the old 8-bit NES music. You can listen to the music on the player on their site, or buy the album for $4, from which the proceeds will go to Child’s Play Charity. No better way to get your geek on this Christmas season!

Movieline is reporting on a rumor that John Malkovich is in talks to play The Vulture in the upcoming Spider-Man 4! I have to say, he has ALWAYS been my number one choice for this villain, and if this correct I would love it!
They’re also reporting that Anne Hathaway will be playing Felicia Hardy (aka Black Cat). Some wierd stuff going on there, and I’ll let you read for yourself. Cool none-the-less.
I wanted to make a note concerning my future plans for Team Jetpack 104. I initially started this comic back in September to help me get drawing again, and as a creative exercise and challenge. It has definately done that; I have gained some kills in Photoshop that I never thought I would be able to achieve, and I’ve learned more or less the technique I want to use from here on out.
Having said that, I am not beyond the fact that the artwork is not as clean, polished, or snappy as it should and CAN be. I have also found that the standard three panel format is not fitting for the kind of story telling I’m trying to do here. However, while scanning the Internet for other web comics, I found one that inspired me to do better, and have decided to adopt their format for TJ104 in the future.
Kiwi Blitz is a great comic, and the artist’s format has inspired me to no end. So, after this arc, I will be taking a short break as I prepare for the new and improved Team Jetpack 104. I will be updating the team’s look a bit, more fully polishing ideas, and writing a script for the first arc. Hopefully my new format will enable me to better flesh out the characters, as well as deliver better dialogue, stories, and villains. As a treat, I have included the pencil sketch of the “New and Improved” Captain Amazing. I will be doing these type of references (eventually in full color) for all major characters.
